Explorer Week 15

Prep for Galley & Cabins

< PREVIOUS                                  NEXT >

This past week a team from Lindblad Expeditions, including Hotel Manager Patrik Svardmyr and Director of Technical Operations Brock Bullard, met with officials of the CDC’s Vessel Sanitation Program in Miami to go over the layout of the galley, the equipment that is being purchased, and the plans for storerooms and food service to insure that all will be in compliance with the rigorous standards of CDC. At our invitation, CDC will follow up with an on-site inspection when the conversion is nearly complete, and then another inspection after the ship is in service.

Meanwhile, in sunny Las Palmas, this past week the shipyard has been focused mainly on the steel work on C-Deck that needs to be done to ready the ship for the installation of the first cabins. In another week or so there will be some 50 workers from the interior outfitter subcontractor on site to begin the cabin work. This week we’re also able to show you more renderings by the interior designer of the cabins and public spaces.
