The Making of the National Geographic Explorer

Explorer Week 27

Constant Progress

< PREVIOUS                                                                              NEXT >

Work on National Geographic Explorer is going on at a furious pace in all corners of the ship, and now one sees visible progress on an hourly basis.

After weeks of behind the scenes work involving ventilation, wiring, plumbing and steel structure, now the cabins, restaurant, lounge and wellness center are beginning to actually look like the spaces they are intended to be. It no longer takes a stretch of the imagination to envision what these areas of the ship will soon look like.

Corridors are taking shape, balconies, windows and railings are in, and flooring has been poured. The ship pulses with the energy of the veritable army of workers that swarms the ship around the clock.
