The Making of the National Geographic Explorer

Explorer Week 30

Visible Changes

< PREVIOUS                                          NEXT >

The most noticeable progress during the past week has been in the lounge, bistro bar, and reception areas. We installed the bar in the lounge, and the bistro area bar went in as well. The pantries in both areas are installed, and some paneling has gone up.

In the reception area, the Global Gallery’s glass wall framing and doors are well underway. The buffet in the restaurant is in, and most of the ceiling is up.

Progress in the cabins on all decks continues, with more and more cabins getting carpeting and furnishings installed every day. Balcony dividers for the balcony cabins are up, and balcony ceilings are currently being put in place. In a few days, the wood decks for the Sun Deck and the balconies will be placed.

It’s been a week of visible changes on all decks, from stem to stern!
