National Geographic Explorer has been designed to be the premier expedition ship afloat. Her newly reinforced ice belt and all new state-of-the-art navigation equipment on the bridge are just two manifestations of this. An unsurpassed level of comfort, service and amenities will also be part of the expedition experience for travelers on the National Geographic Explorer.
This past week saw the connection of the Espresso Machine in the Bistro Bar and the installation of our high end commercial Fetco coffee machines in the Galley and Chart Room. Our coffee drip service will include Caffe Umbria’s chocolaty Terra Sana blend created from 100% organically certified beans and our decaf service is with their Mezzanotte Blend roasted to a medium dark finish.
In addition to the installation of hotel service equipment like the coffee machines, more and more furniture is being brought onboard including the corner pieces for the Restaurant and the sofa beds in the Suites.
Stay tuned for next week when the ship is transformed from the characteristic colors of the former owner Hurtigruten to the signature Lindblad Expeditions navy blue with the National Geographic yellow stripe
