About a year and half ago I had the opportunity to travel to the
Islands. About a year and a half before that, I had no desire to travel to the Galápagos Islands.
Okay, let me back up. That’s not exactly true. Ever since I was a child, I wanted to travel everywhere. I remember multiple school assignments where the class was asked where in the world we would most like to visit. I was the kid that would write “EVERYWHERE” in big bubble letters and draw a badly detailed picture of as many of the earth’s landmarks as I could fit on the page. Since then, neither my love of travel nor my artistic abilities have changed much. So, saying that I had “no desire” to travel to the Galápagos Islands isn’t exactly true. More honestly, the archipelago just didn’t jump out to me as a top destination…
