Marine explorer and National Geographic Emerging Explorer Katy Croff Bell uses technology to investigate the depths of the ocean. Over the past ten years, she has participated in or led more than 20 oceanographic and archaeological projects.
Katy’s current work involves the utilization of telepresence technology on ocean exploration projects for remote science and education. She is Vice President of the Ocean Exploration Trust and Chief Scientist of Bob Ballard's flagship exploration vessel, Nautilus, working with a large team to implement state-of-the-art technology on expeditions to the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Atlantic Ocean.
