Los Islotes & Isla San Francisco

Feb 26, 2019 - National Geographic Sea Bird

Recipe for a perfect expedition day in Baja:

Start with one green flash during a glorious sunrise. Mix in calm waters, no wind, and good visibility at Los Islotes—perfect conditions for snorkeling with sea lions! Don’t forget to add said sea lions, ideally with a copious amount of playfulness plus a few blue-footed boobies and a dash of brown pelicans with chicks.

Now for the dry ingredients, er, activities: one stop at Isla San Francisco blended with turquoise water, brilliant sun, and hiking among lizards and cacti. Carefully stir in kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, including a competition for a bit of spice. Top it off with a beach barbeque, bonfire, and a night walk under a star-studded sky. Add a piñata and bioluminescence for good measure.

Best served as an unforgettable experience among fellow explorers and friends.
