    Allison has traveled around the world for work and play, loves the outdoors, learning new things, eating good food, and practicing yoga.  She is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Yoga Instructor, and Certified Health Coach.  She draws on her background in wellness and hospitality to find ways to explore the world, connect to people, practice the healing arts, and grow.

    Courtney’s story is a little different than most of the Midwest kids she grew up with. Rather than settle down in her hometown of St. Charles, Illinois, she set out to make an adventurous life all her own starting in St. Augustine, Florida. It was there that she obtained a BA in journalism and film production while focusing on the marine environment.

    Undersea Specialist
    Emily was raised by two veterinarians in the mountains of Central Oregon, where she spent much of her time on the back of a horse dreaming about the sea. Her fascination was solidified by visits to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and summers spent gazing into tide pools and listening for killer whales off the coast of British Colombia.

    National Geographic Photographer
    Flip Nicklin was born with both diving and photography in his blood.  His grandfather dove while wearing hard hat gear for construction. His father, Chuck, is a diver and underwater cinematographer, who taught his sons to become scuba divers. By the age of fourteen, Flip was helping his father teach people to dive off of the coast of Southern California, in La Jolla.

    Naturalist
    John has been interested in travelling, what can be learned from it and sharing it with others, since his days as a youth growing up in rural Ohio. A graduate of Marietta College, his first SCUBA diving course in 1980 introduced him to the underwater world, and he’s been passionate about exploring it ever since. This yearning has taken him to spectacular dive sites the world over, with extensive underwater time logged in Hawaii, the Bahamas, Thailand, Greece and Mexico.

    Naturalist/Expedition Diver
    Born and raised on the edge of the Mojave Desert, Nick was accustomed to hot dry days, far from the ocean. Everything changed when he attended California State University Monterey Bay, a short 1.5 miles from the beaches of Central California. This is where Nick’s passion for the water developed and completely engulfed his life. He quickly changed his concentration in college to Marine Science, allowing him to further dive into the underwater world.

    Patrick grew up in the historic town of Charleston, South Carolina, a destination overflowing with resources for a young explorer. Patrick’s parents happily encouraged daily pursuits such as sailing, hiking, and camping in the endless coastal wetlands. In addition to his love of the outdoors, history was another fascination. Influenced by his hometown, Patrick learned the benefit of understanding the historical significance of the places he explored.

    Stella has called many exotic locations—from New York City to Zihuatanejo, Mexico, to Okoboji, Iowa—home. A childhood in Seattle instilled in her a great love of drizzle, while three years living in Mexico after high school honed her Spanish skills. She spent several years flying with the U.S. military around the world and back again as a flight attendant for a small charter airline. Living and working on board expedition vessels was a natural choice for Stella’s migratory instinct, and wrangling expedition logistics fits her profound love for color-coding and VHF radio.

    Naturalist/Certified Photo Instructor
    Sue has been creating wildlife, landscape, and travel photos for over 30 years, traveling to over 90 countries on all seven continents. She has combined this passion with an unusual career that includes being an Engineer Officer with the Royal Air Force in the U.K. and taking on various executive roles in the technology companies of Silicon Valley, California. In 2011, she managed to escape to focus solely on her wildlife and travel photography.
