However, he actually started his career as an artist, and specializes in natural history subjects. His wife, Paulette, has conducted numerous art workshops and together they will offer a series of art workshops during this epic transatlantic voyage. Join them. It should be lots of fun.
Do you love standing on the bridge to watch the workings of a ship? Join oceanographer Jim Kelley and our ship’s Captain and officers for a course in covering all the practical aspects of navigating the sea. Learn to read nautical charts and employ a sextant, magnetic compass, and gyro compass. You’ll discover how pilots chart their way through the current and wind and determine the routes we take.
The entire expedition team is prepared with talks and presentations on topics from anthropology to zoology that knit this sweeping voyage into a coherent whole for you. A program of talks will be offered each day. Choose to join us in the lounge or relax in your cabin and listen to the broadcast.
