Petersburg is a jewel of a fishing town in either sun or rain. Today, it was the rain; it was much appreciated after too many days of sun for a rainforest to stay as it should.

Morning operations of hikes and bike tours gave us stunning views of Wrangell Narrows and close looks at unique plants and animals. This town has its own artistic flair, reflected in high tide water. We find fishing shacks with decorative floats and homes of sublime colors, sometimes trimmed in Norwegian designs. In the muskeg, we found beauty in the unique plants, including the Alaskan blueberry and the various mosses and lichens carpeting the forest.  Guests voiced appreciation for the net covered boardwalk that prevented slippage. Always welcoming, the people of Petersburg are as much of a warm delight as their town.
