Amy Bartlett Wright is an accomplished scientific illustrator and public arts muralist. She has painted commissions for the Smithsonian, the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Museum of Science in Boston. She has illustrated over 60 books describing the world’s plant and animal species including several titles in the Roger Tory Peterson Field and First Guide series and two titles for the preeminent socio-biologist, E. O. Wilson of Harvard University.
Amy is a professional member of Society of Animal Artists and Oil Painters of America. She was selected as Amica Insurance Company’s 2014 Thanksgiving Card Artist and received the 2009- 2010 Teacher of Excellence Award from Rhode Island School of Design’s Department of Continuing Education where she teaches painting and drawing to all ages.
Her more recent paintings are large format and they span the country. Amy’s murals are now in 10 American states as public and private art. For fun, she paints the landscape en plein air and she looks forward to exploring and painting the Galápagos Islands aboard the National Geographic Endeavor with guests.
