Sigriour Thorlacius


Sigríður is one of Iceland’s most popular and respected singers, with a strong musical background and deep understanding of the pieces she performs. She has studied piano at Reykjavik Tónmenntaskóli, classic vocal studies at Reykjavik Söngskóli, and jazz at FÍH Music School.

Sigríður has a diverse range that includes singing lead vocals in Hjaltalín, one of Iceland’s biggest rock bands, as well as partnering with Icelandic Latin Jazz bandleader Tómas Einarsson and many others. She has twice been nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards, winning Voice of the Year in 2010 and Female Singer of the Year in 2013 with Hjaltalín. 

Through her work with Hjaltalín, Sigríður has released three albums, plus a concert album and film that was recorded at the Iceland Symphony Orchestra in early 2010. She has also contributed to the movie soundtracks for Autumn Lights, The Good Heart, and Case.

During her appearance for Lindblad, Sigríður will be joined by frequent collaborator, Sigurður Guðmundsson, as well as some of the country’s best musicians as they perform classic and original Icelandic songs.
