Stevie lives in Qikiqtarjuaq, Baffin Island, Canada with his wife and three kids (two sons and a daughter). He has lived his entire life on Baffin Island, but has travelled extensively in Canada and Greenland. He makes his living primarily as a professional hunting guide and leads expeditions by dog sledge primarily around Baffin Island. Being full-blooded Inuk, Stevie is an expert on Inuit culture and history.
He has also done work in archaeology researching prehistoric sites associated with past Arctic peoples of North America. In addition, he is a professional diver, having dived in these rich waters for more than 20 years, and has much knowledge of the Arctic undersea world. His life experiences growing up in the Arctic are of great value to us, since he can teach us about survival in what the outside world considers the most harsh environment on Earth. Stevie became involved with the tourist industry in 2008, when he first worked with Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic.
