Grosvenor Teacher Fellow
Tyler Sanders is an elementary science teacher at the Harlem Children's Zone Promise Academy Charter School in New York City, where he has taught for the past sixteen years. His 2014 Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship took him on an unforgettable expedition to Antarctica, and he was part of the inaugural class of elementary teacher recipients of the Teachers for Global Classrooms Fellowship in 2015 sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. Growing up in northern Michigan, he developed a love for the outdoors and exploration at an early age. Videos, photos, and stories from his frequent travels as a certified master scuba diver and amateur naturalist have informed many of his science lessons and his desire to share the great outdoors with his students.
