We started our day in Baja California Sur at the mangrove forest of El Barril. Here our guests went on Zodiac excursions through the channels and also paddled in single or double kayaks. The highlight was seeing shorebirds, sting rays, and the elusive yellow mangrove warbler.

After this morning’s operations we cruised north through the Hull Canal on a low tide, which allowed us to see the challenging and shallow part of Magdalena Bay. The bow-riding bottlenose dolphins stole the show.

In the afternoon, we arrived at Lopez Mateos where we went for a round of whale watching at Boca de la Soledad, the Mouth of Solitude. To finish our day, local musicians Los Coyotes played live and Las Flores del Desierto, a pair of traditional Mexican dancers, performed for us.
