Dagný Ívarsdóttir

Born under the ever-lingering midnight sun in the Arctic and surrounded by exploding geysers, spewing volcanoes, majestic glaciers, and powerful waterfalls—Dagný is a true Icelandic Viking who firmly believes in elves, trolls, and all the other supernatural beings that reside in Iceland’s mystical nature. She is a committed adventure junkie who loves nothing more than spending time in the backcountry, snowboarding, mountain biking, or hiking.

Although Iceland will always be her heart stone, Dagný is true to her Viking heritage as she has an unstoppable urge to explore the world and to discover new treasures and cultures. Thus she has spent a good share of her life overseas studying, working, travelling, and ski bumming. She studied languages and business communications in Australia and Denmark and holds a master’s degree in marketing and international business from the University of Iceland.

Dagný’s passion for travel and the outdoors naturally led her into a career in adventure tourism. In the past few years she has accumulated her travel expertise through various jobs behind the desk and in the field: everything from customer service and marketing, to planning and guiding wild adventure trips all around Iceland.

Dagný first crossed paths with Lindblad-National Geographic in 2014 as the “local expert” for Iceland, overseeing shore excursions and coordinating guest activities. She is proud to be a member of a world-class expedition team, always looking forward to sharing new adventures, experiences, and laughs with guests.
