Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez leads commercial and civil lunar payloads as the Director of Business Development, Commercial and Civil Space, fostering science investigations, technology demonstrations, and media partnerships, at Astrobotic - a space robotics and lunar logistics company providing full service, end-to-end payload delivery to the Moon. As one of the first lunar lander providers for NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services Program (CLPS) with three booked lunar surface missions, the first since Apollo 17 in 1972, Astrobotic is enabling customers to unlock the Moon's potential for sustained exploration and development.

Prior to Astrobotic, Jennifer served as the Technology Lead in Commercial Innovation and Sponsored Programs at the International Space Station U.S. National Laboratory for almost 4 years, where she identified, developed, and fostered space-based R&D and breakthrough technological innovations. Research areas under her leadership included space systems, remote sensing, Earth observation, in-space manufacturing, robotics, AI, and other emerging technologies aimed to maximize utilization of the ISS for the benefit of our planet and to help pave the way toward commercialization in low Earth orbit and future orbiting platforms.

Jennifer also serves on the NASA Resources for Exploration & Science of OUR Cosmic Environment (RESOURCE) team, a project funded by NASA's Solar System Exploration Research Virtual Institute (SSERVI) to determine types of volatiles for in-situ resource utilization (ISRU) on the Moon. Jennifer is an Advisory Council Board Member for the Physics & Astronomy Department at Johns Hopkins University - a world leader in groundbreaking research in condensed matter physics, particle physics, astronomy, and astrophysics. She is a Founding Member of the NASA Datanaut Corps program at NASA Headquarters and is a National Geographic Explorer.

For over 10 years, Jennifer has presented about the intersection of space exploration, Earth observation, environmental science, and climate change for international organizations, Fortune 50 companies, universities, and space agencies such as NASA, IBM, Google, to addressing the United Nations General Assembly, and events in Morocco, Turkey, Ghana, and Nepal. Jennifer is an official U.S. Department of State Speaker and will serve as the space technology expert on upcoming National Geographic Expeditions.
