Mark Bielski

Mark F. Bielski, Ph.D. is an historian, author, and the Director at Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours. In this capacity, he has led numerous WWII tours in Normandy, Holland, Belgium, Germany and Poland. As the host of the History with Mark Bielski podcast, he discusses history from ancient to modern times with experts in their field, with special attention to the Civil War and WWII. Dr. Bielski’s first book, Sons of the White Eagle in the American Civil War: Divided Poles in a Divided Nation, combines his center of historical interest, the American Civil War with Polish history. His second book, A Mortal Blow to the Confederacy: The Fall of New Orleans, 1862, covers the fight for control of the South’s largest city. He is currently working on an historical novel about the Civil War, The Stonewall Jackson Conspiracy and a series of essays entitled, Bloodless Victories. He received his Ph.D. in History at the University of Birmingham, England as well as an M.A. and B.A. in English from Georgetown University and Tulane University respectively.
