Iceland Hangout Travel Advisor Promotion

Join Sven Lindblad on a 5-day land & sea expedition

*One lucky winner will join Sven Lindblad on a 5-day land & sea expedition*

NEW YORK, N.Y., April, 2015 --- Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic has launched a Travel Advisor Incentive Promotion for bookings made on their new ICELAND HANGOUT, a 5-night land & sea expedition led by Sven Lindblad, the company’s founder & president.  One ICELAND HANGOUT winner and a guest will join on the uniquely immersive, highly social adventure from Reykjavik to the wild west coast of Iceland to experience Iceland’s stunning coastal and inland geography, and hang out with a changing cast of interesting Icelanders for great conversation and exclusively curated experiences.

From performances arranged by ethnomusicologist Jacob Edgar, to a dinner prepared by Iceland’s top chef on a private island, to casual drinks-and-dinner contexts with Icelandic artists, musicians, political figures, scientists and writers, they will engage with some of the country’s most fascinating individuals who’ll join along the way.

Travel advisors will earn one sweepstakes entry for a chance to win for each ICELAND HANGOUT double cabin sold. The prize for two includes 2 nights/3 days in Reykjavik with hotel accommodations in a double-occupancy room at either the Apotek Hotel or the Borg Hotel, plus a 3-night expedition aboard National Geographic Explorer in a Category 1 double occupancy cabin.  The adventure departs on July 15, 2015 and is valued at $10,000.

The experience begins in the capital city of Reykjavik for 2 nights where the forces of nature are evident in the geologically young landscape: hot springs, spouting geysers, tumbling waterfalls, and snow-capped mountains. View lava fields in the Golden Circle; soak in the Blue Lagoon; thrill to the juxtaposition of Viðey Island’s ancient ruins and early Christian architecture, and choose from a plethora of adventures: ride a sturdy Icelandic pony, go mountain biking, attend an Icelandic cooking class, or visit a cutting-edge geothermal plant.

Then, embark the 148-guest National Geographic Explorer for a 3-night expedition up the wild western coast, an area with which Lindblad Expeditions is very familiar.  The voyage will explore the remote Hornstrandir, Iceland’s northernmost and most remote peninsula — a spectacular, uninhabited nature reserve only accessible on foot or by boat.  Activities include whale watching, birding, hiking, and visits to charming fishing villages tucked in along the shore.

The promotion is open to all Travel Advisors who are legal residents of the US and Canada, aged 21 or older.  Airfare is not included and is the sole responsibility of the winner.  All taxes imposed on prize are winner’s sole responsibility. No substitutions, no transfers. The promotion ends on June 15, 2015 and the winner will be announced on that day.
