Today National Geographic Islander began with a pre-breakfast hike to the peak of Bartolome Island which has one of the most iconic views of the Galapagos Islands. Then, after a reenergizing and filling breakfast, we headed to the beach for some snorkeling, while some of our more adventurous guests took their snorkeling skills and jumped into deep water. Sea turtles, marine Iguanas, penguins, and many fish were all around us. Back on board, the hotel department served a traditional Ecuadorian buffet lunch for us, and our guests learned the proper way to eat ceviche – with popcorn and plantain chips! Later, we moved to Rabida Island where we had another opportunity to explore the underwater world. We closed the day with a beautiful sunset walk along the red sandy beach of Rabida – a perfect relaxing end to the day.
