What a way to start our voyage to Greenland!  We were awoken by our expedition leader slightly earlier than planned, but no one felt regret – we had spotted killer whales all around National Geographic Endurance!

We continued closer towards Bleak Canyon, a 3000m deep major undersea feature. There, we encountered numerous sperm whales, and even more killer whales. In the afternoon we relocated to Senja Island here in Norway, where we anchored just outside the small village of Hamn where guests had the opportunity to go on a long hike ashore, or a Zodiac cruise around the little archipelago of islands
