Kia Ora, everyone! Here we are for another amazing day on National Geographic Orion in the Sub-Antarctic Islands of New Zealand.

Today is a sea day as we head farther south to Macquarie Island. A day of rest has been prescribed as we ready ourselves for adventure. We started our day early in the morning with Belinda’s stretch class in the lounge, which was followed by the amazing cuisine of Chef Rannie and his team. The meals…oh my goodness! Chef Rannie has laid out some of the best dishes one could hope for. The menus and meal presentation are amazing.

To keep guests intellectually engaged, Doug Gaultieri presented on the penguins we are likely to see in the next few days. In the afternoon, Erin O’Brien presented on the seals of the Southern Ocean.

We finished our evening with cocktail hour and recap in the lounge. Our bar team works tirelessly to ensure that our guests are served the best cocktails and beverages. Thank you to Ricky, the bar manager, and his team: John, Billy, Shaun, Jen, and Cammie. Well done. You all definitely keep spirits high on board our ship…

Cheers!
