Heading to the western territory of the archipelago, we awoke surrounded by shield volcanos. We explored Fernandina Island early this morning, where we walked among colonies of marine iguanas, flightless cormorants, Galapagos hawks, and sea lions. We also had a wonderful time snorkeling with Pacific green sea turtles and marine iguanas.

While we navigated to Isabela Island, we enjoyed a delicious Mexican lunch, global explorer activities, as well as photography and oceanography lectures. The ship dropped anchor in a place called Punta Vicente Roca. This place offers a dramatic landscape because it used to be an active volcano. We explored the area using our Zodiacs; here we spotted a Galapagos fur seal, Galapagos sea lions, brown noddy terns, blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, flightless cormorants, Galapagos penguins and many Pacific green sea turtles.

Back on board, we got ready for wine tasting while kissing the octopus as part of crossing the Equator ceremony. We had so much fun, exploring and learning about our beautiful planet today. It has been a wonderful day in paradise!
