Inian Islands and Fox Creek, 8/4/2022, National Geographic Sea Lion

Today we made our way up to the Inian Islands, which happen to be one of our favorite places to visit here in Southeast Alaska. We were graced by the presence of several different kinds of wildlife, including Steller sea lions (Eumetopias jubatus), harbor seals (Phoca vitulina), sea otters (Enhydra lutris), and both horned puffins (Fratercula corniculata) and tufted puffins (Fratercula cirrhata). On our evening journey to Haines, we were able to witness a pod of killer whales (Orcinus orca) mating and traveling together. What a beautiful day to experience the wonder of Southeast Alaska.
