Around 7 am, the colors of the sunrise were spectacular as stretch class was in full swing on the sundeck of National Geographic Venture.

After breakfast, everyone who was interested joined a Zodiac tour of Isla San Marcos. There was a naturalist in each vessel to offer interpretation of the landscape, flora, and fauna. We also observed a peregrine falcon, a flock of blue-footed boobies, several pelicans, herons, ospreys and their nests. Afterward, there was a chance to walk on the beach or the arroyo.

The most adventurous hikers landed on the island early and spent the morning climbing the hills for the best vantage point. Several took advantage of the cool ocean waters for a rinse after their strenuous activity.

After a fantastic lunch many took advantage of a little downtime for a nap. The navigation team, naturalists and guests kept a watchful eye out for wildlife during a presentation about the whales of the area. Cocktail hour, recap and dinner were followed by a showing of a natural history movie about the Baja Peninsula.
