After sailing while we slept, we woke up this morning at the pristine, well-preserved, and remote Junquillal Wildlife Refuge. It was indeed a delight to go out on the bow and enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean and hills covered with densely forested, tropical dry forest. No buildings or manmade structures were in sight! Wonderful!

We walked on the access road to the park and had great views of wildlife, including white-necked puffbirds and crested caracaras. We observed iguanas everywhere, and a troop of spider monkeys jumped through the canopy.

It was another wonderful day enjoying the rich diversity of the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica.
