Today, guests on board National Geographic Quest awoke to gray skies and light rain. However, nothing could dampen the spirits of the staff and guests! Quickly the preparations were underway to have an amazing day in the southernmost reefs of the Belize Barrier Reef, the Sapodilla Cayes Marine Reserve. We headed toward our destinations, Lime Caye and the reefs around Seal Caye.

Throughout the day, snorkelers drifted gently over patch reefs where massive boulder corals were decorated with swaying soft corals, sponges, various fish, and other sea critters. By mid-morning the clouds rolled away, leaving clear skies and flat seas.

The day ended up being as beautiful as we hoped.
