Early in the morning, National Geographic Sea Lion has reached and anchored at Playas del Coco. After a warm energizing breakfast, expedition landing crafts transferred our guests into the beach area; buses were there ready to take them into Rincón de la Vieja Volcanco and Hacienda Guachipelín.
During our drive, they went across the city of Liberia and other areas in Guanacaste. Once they arrived into the Hacienda, our guests went on the activities they had previously chosen, some went horseback riding through the hacienda´s actual pasturelands, while others took a hike into the volcano area where they saw the mud pools and hot springs. Of course, ziplining was available and chosen by many others.
Early afternoon, a delicious barbecue lunch in the pool area and a nice surprise happened when young people from the area showed up in typical costumes to perform traditional Costa Rican dances.
At the end of the day, our guests returned to the ship with hearts and minds full of memories, and getting ready for another day in our expedition.
