Today we woke up to a beautiful bluebird day here on-board National Geographic Explorer. We have left Canada and arrived at the small island of Saint Pierre, which is actually part of France. We cleared into customs and were able to choose from a number of amazing activities. Some explored the small Sailor’s Island while others went hiking or chose to explore the quaint downtown. We had the chance to visit a beautiful museum or pop into small bakeries, cheese shops, and French cafes.

Once back on board, we sailed out of the harbor to a beautiful sunset as a group of fin whales spouted in the distance. We enjoyed the Captain’s Welcome cocktail hour and toasted to the beginning of an amazing voyage exploring the Canadian Maritimes and Newfoundland.
