Today on our final day of expedition, we visited the island of San Cristobal. National Geographic Islander dropped anchor at Punta Pitt, the most eastern point in the Galapagos Archipelago. The site itself is like a drawing from a different world with breathtaking landscape and colors. The wildlife was plentiful as we snorkeled with playful Galapagos sea lions along the coast of an olivine sandy beach. We also found three species of boobies: blue-footed, Nazca, and red-footed boobies.
In the afternoon, we visited Cerro Brujo. White sand contrasting with black lava and the inviting turquoise waters makes this one of the most beautiful beaches in all the Galapagos, and just begs for one last swim in the Pacific Ocean! Our ever-present companions, the Galapagos sea lions, were observed relaxing and resting. What a great day!
