On Christmas Day, we woke up in the center of the archipelago to visit a very special island, Santiago Island. This is Lindblad’s adopted island, and thanks to its help, today we can experience the real beauty of this magical island just as it was before the introduction of invasive species.

In the morning, we visited Espumilla Beach for a pre-breakfast hike and we had a very special encounter with a juvenile Galápagos hawk that came to inspect us. The rest of the morning was spent in the water with different activities, such as outings in our glass-bottom boat, kayaking, and snorkeling. In the afternoon, we visited one of the naturalists’ favorite sites, Puerto Egas, where we walked along the shoreline, sharing our Christmas with unique Galápagos species.

This has definitely been a magical and memorable Christmas. Merry Christmas from the Galápagos Islands!
