Out very early gets you the birds. Most of us took advantage of a pre breakfast outing to search for some of these colorful flying jewels. We covered a different type of habitat than we have seen until today, some marshy wetlands near the community we would visit later in the morning. In about an hour and a half, some 50 species of birds were spotted! After breakfast we had the chance to meet some locals in the community and hear about their sustainable projects carried out with the help of Minga Perú and the support we partly provide with our contributions. In the afternoon, after leaving the Marañón and entering the Ucayali River for the second half of our journey, we explored Clavero Lake with our skiffs and were rewarded with an incredibly acrobatic monkey show and a fantastic sunset in the lake.
