Our guests started their first day of the expedition with a lovely stretch class on the sundeck as the sun was warming up Magdelena Bay. The bridge team of National Geographic Sea Bird brought us to Bahia Almejas from San Carlos over night for our first full day of whale watching! Everyone headed out early and had a great time with the whales.

Back on board, the guests had their first photography class with our photo instructor Lisa Hornak. In the afternoon, it was back out for more whales as well as some incredible bird watching with brown pelicans, cormorants, and wonderful views of a magnificent frigate breeding colony. When we got back to the ship, we had a lovely gray whale presentation from Naturalist Kelly Coursey Gray. What a fantastic and unforgettable day! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
