Early in the morning, before breakfast, we boarded our Zodiacs and headed to Bartolomé Island, one of the most iconic sites in the Galápagos. After a short hike to the summit, we were rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view featuring Pinnacle Rock, a volcanic formation that is one of the most recognizable landmarks of the archipelago. From the top, we also spotted Santiago, Santa Cruz, and Chinese Hat Islands.
After breakfast, we returned to Bartolomé for a refreshing swim. Guests had the incredible opportunity to snorkel alongside Galápagos penguins and graceful rays; some even encountered whitetip reef sharks, in an unforgettable experience with the marine life of the islands.
In the afternoon, we navigated to Santa Cruz Island and landed at Cerro Dragón at 3:30 p.m. During our inland walk, we observed several land iguanas; some basking in the sun, others feeding, and a few curiously watching us without moving. The trail, lush and overgrown from recent rains, added to the wild beauty of the site and didn’t stop us from appreciating these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
It was a remarkable day, filled with iconic landscapes and unforgettable wildlife encounters.
