We awoke with a view of the beautiful landscape of Española Island, one of the oldest islands in the archipelago and home to a diverse group of endemic species. We started with a peaceful walk on a soft, sandy, coralline beach and then went kayaking. We followed this up with a deepwater snorkeling excursion where we saw a nice array of colorful fish and volcanic rocky reefs. In the afternoon, we enjoyed a Zodiac exploration in the western region of Española. We had a fortunate encounter with the pelagic waved albatross along the dramatic, eroded cliffs covered with marine birds. We also explored inland where we observed albatrosses, boobies, and gulls.
San Cristobal Island is always full of surprises. In the morning, we visited Punta Pitt, and the outstanding landscape and creatures left our guests with a sense of wonder. In the afternoon, we visited Cerro Brujo, one of the most beautiful beaches in the archipelago. After a relaxing walk along the beach, we departed towards Kicker Rock to circumnavigate this dramatic rocky outcrop while we enjoyed a wine tasting experience on board National Geographic Delfina.
