Floreana Island, 1/9/2022, National Geographic Islander

Today we visited Floreana, the mystery island. We started the day by exploring Baroness Bay in kayaks and Zodiacs. We observed Galapagos sea lions and Pacific green sea turtles before visiting Post Office Bay, a historical site. We picked up strangers’ postcards at the barrel and left behind our own postcards! The adventure continued at Champion Islet, where we enjoyed an incredible snorkeling experience with hundreds of colorful fish and playful Galapagos sea lions.

While sailing to Punta Cormorant, we encountered bottlenose dolphins. As we finished a fantastic day, we spotted a good number of female Pacific green sea turtles almost stranded on the white beach while others mated. What a privilege! It was a fantastic day, the kind that only the Galapagos can offer.
