During the recap one very mysterious and unidentified creature appeared. Whilst rumors are rife, no one was able to identify this individual - a mystery of Halloween….
The dining room looked spookily spectacular, as many a bat and witch entered for our Halloween dinner. It seemed appropriate that our meal continued our theme, and our hotel manager, Patrik Svärdmyr, had been able to find local deepwater fish at Madeira. It is called Espada and whilst tasting delicious, has the reputation of being a particularly ugly looking fish.
After a night of fun, everyone has been enjoying a leisurely day at sea. Difficult choices arose such as whether to relax on the deck or take part in some of our activities. For the early risers Suzana had her stretch and tone at 830 AM behind the gym and at 10 o'clock Art Cooley gave a lecture about "how animals find their way".
We are now on our way to the Cape Verde Islands off the coast of west Africa and Senegal, and we are traveling with a nice tail wind. The temperature is increasing and to be out on deck in front of the bridge is perfect. From the bow we have seen dolphins and sea birds, including a Red-billed Tropicbird and Storm Petrels.
