Espanola Island
It has been a memorable experience to spend the last seven days in one of the most pristine locations in the world, the Galápagos Islands.
From day one until now, there hasn’t been a single day of disappointment. That is a lot to say when you are taking a trip that goes literally to the middle of nowhere!
Today, as we strolled the path on Española Island, we encountered many different species found nowhere else, even within the archipelago itself. Lots of colorful marine iguanas were basking on the rocks while plentiful sea lions pups were playing on a long and “white as marble” beach.
It wasn't too long ago when our guests arrived full of questions about these animals, but as the week was progressing, those questions were naturally answered. The naturalist, with their vast knowledge, were pure interpreters of an environment known by a very lucky few, but the guests themselves made the discovery, answered their own questions through observations, and even better, came out with their own conclusions in terms of the Galápagos’ destiny.
It has been a day to play fully with nature. Whether sea lions on the beach or fish under water. We all had a blast!
I guess at this point of our trip we know how lucky we are to have familiarized ourselves with such a magnificent place on earth. All the wonderful things that we have learned from the naturalists this week are just a confirmation of what we already know deep inside; that every creature on this earth has a purpose, and that maybe our main purpose on earth has been mislead somehow, but it is not too late to get back on track…
Good luck everyone in your journeys of discovery!
