Espanola Island

Espanola Island, due to its beauty and abundance of wildlife, constitutes a highlight in any given trip to this enchanted archipelago. In the morning, we visited an idyllical white beach surrounded with amazing aquamarine blue waters. Gardner beach is home for a pretty big Galápagos sea lion colony. These beloved marine mammals are, without any doubt, one of the visitors’ favorite animal species. Galápagos sea lions’ big eyes, round heads and furry appearance in some extent resemble pets. In addition to their intrinsic good-looks, they are playful and curious as well. A partially overcast and pure blue sky created a great atmosphere that provided us with great photographic opportunities.

The afternoon walk was not less impressive than the morning beach outing. Punta Suarez located in the north western part of Espanola Island was as its best today. Nazca and blue footed boobies together with the famous waved albatross were delightful sightings that satisfied the most demanding expectations. A wonderful week has come to an end in this remote and extraordinary group of islands. The sincere happiness we can observe in our visitors is a living proof of how profound the memories and feelings they take with them home are.
