Isabela & Fernandina Island
Water, we are surrounded by it, and yet there is so little we know of its incredible power! How many times have we told to ourselves, “I've got to go to the beach to relax!” Water; there is something about it that makes us feel free, our daily problems vanished instantly with the first sight of the blue-turquoise colours of the ocean. Its healing powers are beyond the explicable, so much that even doctors advise going to the beach to recuperate even from the worst human diseases!
Being in the Galápagos surrounded by water could be translated as one of those hilling experiences. There is nothing better that listening at the waves crashing on the rocky shores, or to observed the marine creatures “gliding” in an environment that seem so estrange to us, but at the same time so inviting and relaxing.
It seems that the heaviness of our flesh disappears when entering the water, and we transform into pure energy, allowing us to glide and act worry-free, just as every single creature that surrounds us.
There is still so much connection with the ocean, that we are drawn to it wherever we have the chance to take even a short trip.
For us lucky ones travelling on board the Islander, we are in the Galápagos, a place surrounded by the ocean, listening everyday at the waves carving the landscape and mingling with creatures that accept us as one of their own kind, sharing with us their most valuable possession, water…
