Santa Cruz & North Seymour Islands
We spent another amazing day in one of the ultimate paradises on Earth, the Galápagos Islands. Since early in the morning until late in the afternoon, the day was filled with emotions and superlatives. It is certainly not an easy task to choose just one highlight out of the many we all experienced today. Tonight, during our traditional “recap time,” we asked our guests to pick one highlight, and as we suspected, their different answers confirmed our earlier appreciation.
I will summarize some of the interesting answers that were rendered. Most of our visitors agreed that the giant tortoises in the wild were unforgettable. This experience was magical, indeed. If you just take a look to the picture of today you could imagine how close we were to these giant reptiles. Some others liked the abundance and the ecological naiveté of the wildlife in North Seymour Island. Blue footed boobies, marine iguanas, frigate birds and sea lions were a delight to us observers. Somebody mentioned something very nice: the relief on the spirit produced by the sound of silence, while observing the wild life along the trail on North Seymour. As you can sense, any given visit to this remote and paradisiacal archipelago can evoke unforgettable memories. It seems that the magic of the Galápagos has put a spell on us once again.
