Isabela & Fernandina Island
We spent our day in the most remote area of the archipelago, the western-most realm of the Galápagos. To get here from Santa Cruz Island, the Islander traveled during the whole night. Gently, King Neptune took us to the Equator line which we crossed twice; we had a nice ceremony in the early morning with certificates for each guest signed by the captain of the vessel and the King of the seas himself!

Water activities in the morning gave us the delight of enjoying the magnificent and great Sun Fish or Mola mola. We Zodiac rode around the coasts of Punta Vicente Roca and snorkeled with dozens of sea turtles, penguins, flightless cormorants and colorful fish all at the same time and at the same spot…this only happens in the Galápagos!

The highlight for the afternoon was of course our unique and rare flightless friends, cormorants and penguins, nesting on Punta Espinoza, Fernandina Island. What can I say, just another breathtaking day in Darwin’s paradise!
