Bartolomé & San Salvador Islands
It is as if dolphins had been on a contract for this trip. Almost every day we have been lucky enough to enjoy their company. And today was no exception!
After the hike to the top of Bartolomé, several dolphins accompanied each of the Zodiacs back to the ship. We had spotted them earlier from the heights of this beautiful islet; it was at least 50! And then, after breakfast, we had penguins underwater, and amazing underwater topography around the pinnacle rock.
The afternoon was spent at James Island. Some chose to do the walk; some preferred to enjoy the waters of Puerto Egas. During sunset we sat down and tried to think back about the week, tried to choose a highlight. And it was hard.
The moon rising on one side, the sun behind the ocean on the other, beauty everywhere we looked, and contentment and beauty in our hearts. Galápagos has been so generous with us!
