Cerro Dragon & Sombrero Chino

The early hours are the best, definitely! Right after the sun rose from behind Isabela Island, we disembarked on a pahoe-hoe lava flow for a walk in search of iguanas. Not only did we find a few, bright and fresh, but we enjoyed a contrast in colors and shapes that is unique to Cerro Dragon: the green sesuvium, and the white coralline beach, the dark lava of an old eruption, the reddish lagoon teeming with life, and to top everything, the most beautiful rainbow ever!

Our younger explorers learned to drive the Zodiacs after some time at the beach or deep water snorkeling, and in the afternoon most of our guests went to the water again, this time in search of white tip sharks, rays and penguins.

We did have a lovely Thursday at the Galápagos Islands.
