Floreana Island
This morning, before breakfast, we went to Post Office Bay, a historical site in the Galápagos Islands, due to the ancient tradition that we still keep—leaving and collecting letters and post cards in an old barrel that was once used by whalers and sailors.
After breakfast, we went to snorkel at Champion Islet where we found several schools of colorful fish feeding, and some sea lions pups playing around. The water was refreshing, tending to cool, which provided the proper conditions for this great productivity.
During the afternoon, we went to Cormorant Point, where we shared the human history and legends of Floreana Island and its first settlers. We were impressed by the wide landscape of the lagoon in contrast with the white forest of holy incense trees, and the pink sunset upon the horizon when we left.
At the white-sand beach we found many sting rays, one white-tip shark and some turtles. A sense of freedom and peace engaged the exploring nature experience.
Definitely, Floreana Island is magic, identity and beautiful scenarios.
