Cerro Dragon and Sombrero Chino

This is one of my favorite spots: marvelous turquoise waters welcomed us at the disembarking spot, the lava fields, the ship anchored, the volcanoes surrounding us, all a symphony of colors and rock textures.

The gray deciduous Palo Santo trees combined with the white sandy beach, the black rocks and the bright green prickly cactus that make you dream you have this Garden of Eden as yours.

We saw several plovers in the lagoon behind the beach, a lot of blennies in the tidal ponds and about six land iguanas on the hike around Dragon Hill. Once back on board we went snorkeling around Guy Fawkes and enjoyed a fantastic time with colorful fish and more. The water temperature now is about 75F.

As soon as we returned to the ship, the young explorers went out again to learn how to Zodiac ride so they could be certified by Lindblad Expeditions for future trips with us.
