Española Island

We started our day at Gardner Bay, in the Island of Española. Our Expedition Leader was promising the best yet to come, and he was right! A long white coral beach full of sea lions was the after breakfast location. We had an early morning kayaking at seven and water activities like snorkeling and more kayaking followed. Some of us just had a romantic promenade along this incredible beach.

The National Geographic Islander navigated along the Northern coast of the island during lunch and took us to the best part of Galápagos: Punta Suarez. This location is about the only home for the waved albatross, or Galápagos albatross. From thousands of miles away they arrive each year for their breeding season. We saw eggs! We also saw nesting and courting displays, all in less than an hour…such was our last full day in Galápagos.
