Bartolomé & Santiago Islands

This morning we woke up ready for everything! Our Zodiacs took us to the shore of one of the most beautiful islands in the Galápagos: Bartolomé. We walked the staircase of the Galápagos Park Service all the way to the summit, some 360 feet above sea level. Picture taking from here was amazing! We had a spectacular view of the surrounding islands. The breeze was pleasant and the morning light delightful…Then we remembered that we didn’t have breakfast yet, so we returned back on board.

After replenishing our energies, we went to swim and snorkel with sea lions, turtles and penguins. Dune walkers met the hottest sands of the island and a variety of creatures on the other side of our visiting site. Still, beach-goers had fun just lazily strolling on the sand. Lunch was due soon and waiting for us back on board. Our Ecuadorian cuisine was incredible and, after a siesta, we were ready for more…

Puerto Egas, on the island of Santiago, was our next destination. The temperature of the ocean was perfect and once again we swam with sea lions. Then we hiked along the shore to end in the grottos, a hideaway for fur sea lions, the most attractive furry species in the Galápagos.

A great ending to a great day!
