Española Island

We arrived to Española today. Early in the morning we had a kayak outing in Gardner Islet near to Española Island, the most southern island in the Galápagos. Right after breakfast we went snorkeling, and it was a blast. The sea lions were all around us, all the time. Some of our guests noticed the most beautiful wall of invertebrates, the best snorkeling in the week, they said!!!

Then, after a delicious and low-in-calories lunch, we navigated to the other side of the oldest point in the Galápagos: Punta Suarez. Low tide welcomed us and marine iguanas were happy campers in the rocks off shore. The short walkers did a pleasant strolling along the first two beaches, while the long walkers went up to the colony of Nazca boobies, the Blue Footed Boobies, and the famous Waved Albatross. We found nests, eggs and baby chicks!!! A sweet goodbye to our paradise…
