Dragon Hill & Sombrero Chino

We started with a clear sky in another wonderful day in the Galápagos! Nice temperature and easy waves took us to an early pre-breakfast outing. The prehistoric Galápagos land iguana was waiting for us. These unbelievable reptiles bask under the sun to gather energy for the day activities: feeding and watching tourists passing by. We found burrows and eaten cactus pads, physical proof that they actually move. Everybody was astonished by their might and presence…at least the first one on sight.

A Galápagos flycatcher found our group attractive and tried for a good ten minutes to retrieve some nesting material from the heads of our younger female explorers…eventually it gave up, as they properly wear their Galápagos hats.

After breakfast, we went to snorkel in a place called Guy Fawkes Islet, where fish and fowl were waiting for us as well.

In the afternoon, our many activities of kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, and panga riding kept us busy again, enjoying penguins, sharks, and a beautiful Galápagos hawk in Sombrero Chino. It was another wonderful day in paradise!
